  The donair bites were pretty good. Hearty chowder, generous amount. Friendly place to stop for a bite.

  Our visit to the Hollow Log this morning was a bit disappointing. We have visited this restaurant on many occassions however the service today was very, very slow. We waited almost a half hour just to get our coffee. Other patrons that came in after us and were well known to the staff received their drinks within seconds of taking their seats. When our coffee was.getting low we had to go to the counter to ask for refills. When refilled we only received a half cup. Our meals were brought to us by a lady with bare feet. The food was great as usual but the customer service is definitely lacking at this restaurant.

  To call the Hollow Log Cafe an excellent Roadside Diner would be selling it short.Trudy and I stopped in for a big meal after a day long hike at Keji. I had the hot hamburger dinner and she had chicken fingers and fries. Both are home made, fresh and tasty. We didn't stay for coffee or dessert although it was tempting considering the number of specialty pies and cakes they had displayed. We left just as the Sunday dinner rush started to completely fill the place. They were perhaps a little short-staffed but our waiter was attentive, composed and provided personable service. They have plenty of parking plus a play area outside next to the restaurant. It's a very welcoming and nicely styled comfy cozy restaurant where you don't feel rushed.

  We have stopped here twice in recent months, and I have to say they have the BEST milkshakes and desserts! Sooo good. Otherwise it’s just standard diner fare, but the atmosphere is great. Unfortunately the service was slow, both times there was a single server who seemed to be drowning with a large table, but it’s off-season so perhaps they cut back on staff.
